So, your shop is an Agile shop. You practice it day in and day out, and your team lives the and breathes the Agile Manifesto. You embody the spirit of Agility by embracing teamwork, shortening the feedback loop, and failing early to address and avoid issues and waste. It couldn’t be better. How pervasive is your Agile mentality? How much of your organization embraces it?

Many tried and true Agile shops often times fall apart when you look at things outside the perspective of development and manufacturing. During this workshop, we will try to address how other areas of an organization deal with Agility. Specifically, we will talk about HR and the hiring process. This is very important in a town like Austin, which is full of many talented individuals who we are often times trying to entice to come to our organization. The interview process isn’t just a one-way process of a candidate trying to convince an employer to extend an offer. It’s just as important for the employer to convince the candidate to come work in their offices.

If you have an Agile shop, you are likely wanting to hire people who are experienced and embrace Agile methodologies. There’s a chink in the armor when your hiring process doesn’t help show the candidate the values and processes that make you successful.
