The Agile Austin U Foundations Course is an 8 week night course that is free to our community. The intent is to introduce the core concepts of agile, Scrum, Lean Software and Kanban. There will be two volunteer instructors for each class and dinner will be provided. Proof of Attendance will be provided for those interested in claiming PDU’s. The full schedule can be found at http://www.agileaustin.org/training/.

Projects begin with one or more requirements, the ‘what’ that needs to be done. User Stories are an approach to requirements that have become a standard way of describing and expressing requirements for agile time-constrained projects.

Week 3 of our 8-week journey through the fundamentals of agile brings a discussion of the agile approach to developing system requirements, and introduces User Stories. It will provide knowledge of, and hands-on experience in identifying, writing, and working with useful and effective User Stories. You will utilize the six attributes all User Stories should exhibit, as well as guidelines for refining and splitting User Stories into sizes that are effective and deliverable within an iteration. You will also explore using user role-modeling to develop User Stories that reflect the needs of all users and stakeholders.
