Our goal is to change the way you think about building software. This class focuses on providing a solid knowledge of the core concepts of Agile, Scrum and Lean and how these concepts can be applied in a software development organization. Through hands-on group exercises, you will experience what it means to be agile while gaining an appreciation for key techniques.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

  • Describe Scrum (Ceremonies, Roles, and Artifacts)
  • Manage requirements in an Agile way
  • Estimate project features in a more effective way
  • Organize Sprints (Planning, Daily Scrum. Review and Retrospectives)
  • Focus on optimizing for the whole and limiting work in progress


Who Should Attend?

This course is role agnostic and is geared towards anyone who is new to Agile or hasn’t received any formal training and is looking for a better understanding to apply in their organization. No prior knowledge is required, though the scrum guide is suggested pre-reading.


Workshop Facilitator

David Hawks of Agile Velocity is focused on helping technology organizations accelerate their ability to deliver value.  David brings his broad experience working with Fortune 50 companies and early stage startups to challenge software organization to think differently about how they build software. He serves as the Education Chair of Agile Austin and holds the following certifications: CSM, CSP, PSM, and PMI-ACP.
